My favorite gear to upgrade your social content!

High-quality photos and videos are more accessible than ever. Our phones have upgraded cameras, we have tripods to keep our videos steady, mics to keep our sound clear, and lighting to make a dark office look vibrant. The best thing is that most of the items (aside from your pricey iPhone!) are actually affordable. Shooting great content with a smartphone and a few handy tools is totally possible.

Here is a list of my favorite tools I use with my own content, and on client content shoots. This not only helps make creating content easier, but it helps it look more professional!

  • TRIPOD: This lightweight tripod collapses to a small size that can fit inside a large bag. The ring light is removable and is attached to a laptop or other device via USB. One thing to mention is because the tripod is so light weight, if you are using this outside on a windy day it might blow over! I primarily use this inside. It expands from 10 inches to 62 inches making it very versatile!

  • MINI TRIPOD: This table top tripod is great for capture content close up or while sitting at a desk. It has

  • SELFIE STICK: The return of the selfie stick! These once trendy devices were used by tourist and content creators alike! They are now a small business owners best friend. Take a selfie stick with your phone on a walk to add some movement to your reels or stories. Expand the stick to get footage far away or in a tight spot that might be hard to reach. Or set it up on it’s stand for hands free recording.

  • WIRELESS MICROPHONES: A good wireless microphone can make all the difference. If you are in an office and have co-workers buzzing around, if you are close to a busy street and can hear cars and trains, or if you are outside and need a way to capture just your audio and not the chirping birds! These are one of the best ways to enhance your video content. One thing to mention is to check the compatibility with your phone. They make these in a variety of models to fit your specific device!

  • STABALIZER: This is one of my most requested links! People are fascinated by this “contraption.” This makes taking handheld photos and videos SO much easier, especially if you need to be moving around! You can grip it easily with two hands making it much more steady. It fits a phone or a professional camera. You can attach external lights or mini booms or mics for sound. You can also take off the handle and make it a gimbal for an easy one-handed device! This is my GOAT item I ALWAYS bring on every content shoot.

Honorable mentions:

LIGHTS:

When I need extra lights or I need something small and close up that I can customize the warmth, and brightness, I add one of my mini lights. This is great for small spaces and close up content or even small product shots.

SIMPLE STABALIZER: If you are looking for a simple two-handed stabilizer for easy video content that doesn’t have all the bells and whistles but has a built in light, I love this option!
